HYDROSEEDING:     Is a seed planting process, which uses a water based slurry mixture of seed, mulch, and additives applied over prepared ground. Virtually any place where the ground has been disturbed you can use hydroseeding for restoring everything from residential lawns to large-scale construction projects, and anything in between. It is also highly effective for erosion control on hillsides and sloped areas when using high performance mulches, to reduce runoff velocity, the potential for sheet erosion and rill formation.

If you want to learn more about hydroseeding, we invite you to please read our All About Hydroseeding Document. It will explain hydroseeding in plain language and also assist you in completing the hydroseeding service estimate form, so your hydroseeding project will be successful.

SODDING:         Also known as turf, is the upper layer of pre-grown grass, including the soil and roots, harvested into rolls that is ready to layout over prepared ground to establish a new lawn. Sod can be used on commercial and residential properties not only to start a new lawn but also to repair bare patches and prevent erosion on slopes. In addition, it is also effective in increasing cooling, improving air and water quality, and assisting in flood prevention by draining water. Sod also highly effective for erosion control on hillsides and sloped areas to reduce runoff velocity, the potential for sheet erosion and rill formation.

GROUND (SEEDBED) PREPARATION:     Not “PROPERLY PREPARING” the ground  prior to planting is one of the most common and major mistakes affecting the overall results, regardless of the method chosen (Hydroseeding, Dry Seeding, Sod). Most seeds and sod require a fine textured, loose soil surface prior to installation, so the small roots of the can penetrate and take hold and keep the soil in place. The extent of the ground preparation required depends upon your soil test results, ground conditions and the method chosen (Hydroseeding, Dry Seeding, Sod). You can have the finest product and best fertilizer, but poor ground (Seed Bed) preparation can lead to inadequate results.

“DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THE TRUE VALUE OF GOOD AND PROPER GROUND PREPARATION”

EROSION/SEDIMENT CONTROL:     Controlling and/or preventing the effects erosion on exposed soil and sediment from land development and human activities by wind and/or water in is an essential part of construction and land reclamation process. This includes reducing soil erosion caused by rain, water and wind, or protecting waterways from the inevitable build-up of silt, sediment or debris from nearby construction sites.

DUST CONTROL:     Dust control is a practice of controlling and/or preventing excessive dust on a construction site to a minimum, so that it does not wash off and cause water pollution to a nearby stream, river, lake, or sea. Dust controls are usually devices used in conjunction with sediment and erosion controls.

CONSULTING:     Planning any type of land reclamation project can be an overwhelming and/or daunting task regardless the process you are considering. This task should not be left to individuals or companies who do not understand all of the consequences associated with the entire project.
